What is Apprenticeship?

Apprenticeship is career education combining extensive on-the-job training and related classroom instruction. Apprenticeship typically lasts four years. During this time the apprentice works under the supervision and guidance of a journeyperson.

Apprentices are full time employees and earn a wage while in training. An apprentice's pay starts at 50% of the journeyperson and gradually increases throughout the apprenticeship.

Our apprenticeship program is registered with the U. S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training and is accredited through the National Center for Construction Research and Education, located at the University of Florida.

What are the Qualifications
to enter the Apprenticeship Program?

You must be at least 18 years of age. Each sponsoring company may have further entry requirements.
